Prof. Nikolay Georgiev, PhD

BIOGRAFHY

Lecturer in the Department of Technology, Organization and Management of Transport at the Faculty of Transport Management in the following main disciplines: “Technical exploitation/operation and safety of transport”, “Safety and health at work”, “Reliability and safety of systems”, “Fundamentals of theory of reliability ”.

Supervisor of 60 graduates and research supervisor of three doctoral students.

He is the author of over 70 publications, one monograph, one textbook and co-author of two others.

Professional Development:

  •  Member of the European Association for Security – based in Krakow, Poland;
  • from 2013: Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Transport Management. Deputy Chairman of the Academic Council of “Todor Kableshkov” University of Transport;
  • Institutional Coordinator of Erasmus + and BG09.
  • from 2009: Deputy Head of the Department “Technology, Organization and Management of Transport”;
  • 2008-2014: Independent expert in the field of railway safety at the European Railway Agency;
  • 2001-2004: Associate Member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management IIRSM, London, UK;
  • 1999 – 2006: Freelance Assistant with Control Functions at the General Directorate of Railway Inspection at the Railway Administration, MT;
  • since 1988: assistant, chief assistant at Higher Military Transport School “Todor Kaleshkov”, Sofia (“Todor Kableshkov” University of Transport).
