On September 9, 2024, the 102nd academic year was officially opened at the “Todor Kableshkov” Higher School of Transport. Dozens of students, teachers, staff and guests were present in the overflowing Jubilee hall. The celebration was opened by welcoming the flag of the university and listening to the anthems of the Republic of Bulgaria and the student community from all over the world. According to tradition, Father Georgi – parish priest at the “Holy Trinity” church and chairman of the Church Board of Trustees at the “Todor Kableshkov” VTU, performed a solemn water blessing.
The Rector Prof. Dr. Eng.-icon. Daniela Todorova congratulated all those present on the opening of the new academic year and, as is tradition, personally handed over the student books to the freshmen admitted with the highest score.
Among the guests who graced the celebration with their presence were Prof. Miglena Temelkova – Rector of the Higher School of Telecommunications and Posts and Chairman of the Council of Rectors, Eng. Georgi Drumev – Executive Director of “BDZ Holding” EAD, the managers of “BDZ – Tovarni” transport” and “BDZ – Passenger Transport” Mr. Hristiyan Krastev and Mr. Ventsislav Slavkov, Mrs. Desislava Stoyanova – Human Resources Director of “BDZ – Passenger Transport”, Eng. Stoyan Stoyanov – General Director of NKZHI, Mr. Mihail Ivanov – executive director of “Transport construction and reconstruction” EAD, Prof. Miroslav Nedelchev – ch. expert in the “Higher Education” Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Prof. Hristo Hristov – chairman of the Board of Trustees of VTU, etc.
Part of the festive day was the ceremonial opening of the new meeting hall “Vitosha” in the Rector’s building, renovated in its main part with VTU funds, as well as with the financial support of A1.
