On September 11, at 11 a.m., the 101st academic year of the transport alma mater was opened at the “Todor Kableshkov” Higher School of Transport. The ceremony began with a festive water consecration, performed by presbyter Georgi Dimitrov – chairman of the board of trustees of the newly built “All Bulgarian Saints” church. Official guests at the event were the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Mr. Andrey Tsekov, Mr. Biser Minchev – Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications, as well as representatives of the management of “BDZ Holding”, “BDZ – passenger transports”, “BDZ – cargo transports” and National Railway Infrastructure Company.
In his address to the students, teachers and guests, the rector Prof. Dr. Daniela Todorova expressed her confidence in the right choice of all students who have chosen VTU “Todor Kableshkov” to continue their path in education and start building themselves as professionals.
Minister Tsekov noted that today is a celebration of hope, spirituality and daring, of the courage to believe in good, in the possibility of dreams and in knowledge.
After the official ceremony, the faculty leaders held familiarization meetings with the freshmen, where the new students got to know their professors and received information about the upcoming classes, the social and living conditions on the VTU campus and university life.
